The team of the NGO "Technologies of Progress," together with Diia.Osvita, has developed the course "Recovery Monitoring for Civil Society", where experts explain how the Big Recovery Portal (BRP) can be used to track Ukraine's recovery progress and influence the implementation of projects.

BRP is an online platform that presents the database of the country’s reconstruction projects in a clear format, publishes analytics on relevant public expenditures, and engages citizens in monitoring the quality and feasibility of projects as well as overseeing the construction process. BRP is part of the "Recovery Spending Control" project, funded by the European Union.

The portal was created to establish a system of independent monitoring of expenditures – both budgetary and from international partners – analyze them, and provide the public with tools to influence the recovery process.

What is the course about? The course consists of ten episodes covering theoretical and practical materials that will help you answer the following questions:

  • What is the Big Recovery Portal, and what features does it offer?

  • How does BRP’s risk management work?

  • What is the difference between automatic and manual risk indicators?

  • What are the benefits of public monitoring via BRP?

  • How does the monitoring of objects take place: during the planning stage, procurement, and post-reconstruction?

  • General principles for checking object accessibility, as well as a practical case based on a school accessibility monitoring conducted by our colleagues from the NGO "Brave Irpin."

Who is this course for?

  • Active communities where destroyed objects are being rebuilt;

  • NGOs that want to professionally monitor reconstruction projects and are ready to apply for a specialized grant;

  • Concerned citizens and youth who follow and want to influence the transparency of the country's recovery;

  • Media representatives covering reconstruction topics.

Course lecturers:

  • Maksym Nefiodov, co-founder of NGO "Technologies of Progress," head of the BRP project, and co-leader of the "damaged.in.ua" project;
